Tomohiko Yoshida “Sand Hill”
Sep. 7 (Wed.) - Oct. 6 (Thu.), 2005
Tomohiko Yoshida has been photographing views of in and around
the city since he first showed color photographs of the city in 1985. In
the past 10 years he focuses on the landscapes of around the city, which
is common but often missed by people in the wave of transforming the city.
Sand hills newly created by development of the city, leveled hills,
and road to developed land, these places are "landscapes seen between
everyday reality and extraordinary reality, that is views slightly
get out of everyday life", says Yoshida. He focuses the view arising
for just a certain moment when a faint light appears in the sky, and he
fastens his
eyes on space and time that seems different dimension created by
each single bit of grit.
Around 30 selected color prints photographed in
between 2001 to
2005 are shown.
