Kazuyuki Soeno

Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1968. Soeno graduated from the Tokyo Zokei University Faculty of Design and Fine Arts in 1991. He also completed a course at the same university as a research student the following year. Drawing on his own experiences, Soeno’s work revolves around the themes of “light, time, life and death.” He is also known for his photograms which breathe new life into everyday amenities like water, ice, whiskey, beer or even insect wings. He has held solo exhibitions at Gallery Kobo CHIKA, Photo Gallery International, Konica Plaza as well as participating in many group exhibitions. He was shortlisted in the Konica Foto Premio Competition in 2002 and was the recipient of the 12th Art Documents Support Program by Shiseido in 2005.
